#9 – Jacobson’s Organ
And we finally feature a useless organ after talking about useless muscles and other useless body parts. Jacobson’s organ is found in our olfactory system, that’s your nose for the record, and it doesn’t have a purpose. Actually, it’s not that it doesn’t have a purpose. Our ancestors were once able to smell pheromones on other people with the help of this organ. However, Jacobson’s organ malfunctioned and became dysfunctional so we can’t sense pheromones anymore with it. But you must admit that it would be cool to smell pheromones.
