25 Most Painful Diseases You Wouldn’t Want to Have

#8 – Diphtheria

Diphtheria is a dangerous infection that is caused by the bacterium Corynebacterium diphtheria. The disease is spread by direct contact with persons who have it. This dangerous disease was once one of the major causes of death among children. Luckily, Diphtheria doesn’t take children’s lives anymore as it did before because immunization against it was invented.

When you get infected with Diphtheria, you will have hard time breathing because the disease attaches itself on your upper respiratory tract, leading to symptoms such as fever, sore throat, troubles breathing, swollen lymph nodes, and weakness. A telltale sign of Dyphtheria is a gray-like coating in the throat.
