#14 – Peter Sutcliffe
Peter Sutcliffe was something like a modern-day version of “Jack the Ripper.” Why? You’ll figure it out through the text. Nicknamed “The Yorkshire Ripper,” Sutcliffe murdered 13 female prostitutes in the vicinity of Bradford and Leeds. Sutcliffe’s crimes caused a climate of fear all across England until he finally got captured.
Sutcliffe was arrested in 1981 for driving with false registry plates. The police asked him about the murders of prostitutes in the area around Bradford and Leeds and he confessed that he was “The Yorkshire Ripper.” He was sentenced to life imprisonment and serves his penalty in the Broadmoor Maximum Security Mental Hospital.
